Attaching several small ion engines to slow push the ISS out of Earth orbit and toward the outer solar system might be cheaper in the long run, than spending a billion dollars to have it crash into the Earth’s ocean. If it is technically possibly it might t be useful to create a kind of outpost that would provide a place that could be rehabbed to provide a temporary shelter or storage facility for missions to Europa. The disposable items approach characteristic of modern culture is kinda disgusting.
