The L.A. Lakers lost to the Dallas Mavericks last night in a good effort that lacked balanced team scoring. Anthony davis played well with 38 point, yet without balanced scoring L.A. over-played Lebron James who was on the court for more time than anyone else for the team. At 40 minutes for ames on the court the team was not thinking ahead.

The Lakers lacked Jarred Vanderbilt’s defense and Christian Woods offense, Rui Hachimura did not play as well, while D’Angelo Russell did play and scored 6 points. The Lakers need a half dozen guys that can score 15 points, 30 from James and Davis and 20 from Austin Reeves and they would be fine. Lebron isn’t the 40 per game guy any more and oveplaying him could produce some sort of Kobe Bryant achilles experience without time conservation. The spirit may be willing yet age does enhance vulnerability to injury.
