Most venture capitalists loaning cash want to see a five-year plan detailing how they will recover their money and make a profit from the borrowers. As venture capitalists are opening their pots of gold to defense industry borrowers that raises some concerns. Wars are the primary way that defense spending can be increased quite a bit with weapons being depleted and in need of replacement (as in the transfer of billions and billions of weapons stuffs to Ukraine) so politicians may stimulate wars to stimulate defense industry weapons spending.
President Dwight Eisenhower said that; “Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone.“
It would be good if a politician or two had the balls these days to find ways of peace and eliminate poverty rather than splatter human beings as a matter of political economy.
