In the popular realm there is substantial discussion, sometimes preemptively, concerning dogma as if it were exclusively an aspect of religions. Some treat all religions as the same- which is a mistake, in order to dismiss belief in God as an inferior position in comparison with science (it just means knowledge) and philosophy. Neither are terribly similar activities and for comparative purposes one may as well compare apples, baseballs and grenades.

Bear in mind (not one in the forest) that dogma just means an established belief system. That is found in science and sundry fields in addition to religion. Dogma may have a technical meaning in religions (and religion has an etymology deriving generally from the word ‘allegiance’). For example the theologian Karl Barth said that it just means interpreting the Bible accurately and applying what it relates as doctrine (paraphrase). One may exhaust philosophical reading and find that Christianity is the truth. Some may read ‘Being and Nothingness’ and regard it as veritable scripture in a cargo cult kind of way. People obviously believe many wrong things or elevate some things to an iconic status. Even advertising tries that describing living musicians too often as ‘legendary’. Sadly too many are just dopers somnolently finding their way to the gates of hell.
