This one was very strange. The black player seemed confused; uncertainty of piece movement and slow to innovate tactics makes for poor positions with dwindling time. I was merely working on some sort of Italian opening or maybe a Scotch game and changed a bit in response to his defense.
Black seemed so confused that he missed the set-up for mate in one. I guess his defensive opening was unsound, being some kind of half conservative defense jetsioned for a pawn storm jettisoned for positional play.
