Decline of Single First Skydive Opportunities

I believe there is a decline of single first jump skydiving opportunities in the United States. An unscientific survey appeared to show that more skydiving instruction centers prefer to use tandem first jumps with an experienced instructor and an inexperienced novice. In my opinion that is a wrong choice for the line hook-up of a rip cord and opportunity for the first jump to be a few minutes of solitary floating above and down to the Earth is lost.

Tandem skydiving jumps may be fine enough for couples that want some time together in the sky, for single men and for women seeking more independence supoervised single jumps with a rip cord clipped to the floor or a line that opens upon exiting an aircraft is probably best. It may be there is just one situation where a first jump as a tandem jump is best.
